Favorite Skincare Products

March 12, 2018 By houseofhargrove@gmail.com

I love skincare products.  Having good skin is so important.   It is the foundation of everything.  The first thing people see is your face so I like to invest in my skin and make it the best it can be.  I am a beauty junky and love to try all the newest things.  I love products and I also love treatments.  If you watch me on Instagram stories I have shared many of my face mask adventures as well as many other skincare products and procedures.  I have received countless messages on how my face shaving beauty secret has changed their life!  Y’all are as obsessed as I am!  Anyway, today I am sharing my favorite skincare products.  These are my go-to, every day, tried and true items that have changed my skin!!

MY FAVORITE SKINCARE PRODUCTS

I feel like my skin is all types.  I get breakouts, I have dark spots and sun damage, it is aging which I am trying to slow down as much as possible, some times it is oily, sometimes it is dry, so basically. . .I run the gamut.  Only think I don’t deal with is sensitivity.   I just don’t think you should be allowed to have a pimple and a wrinkle at the same time.  I mean. . .pick a side!  Are we aging, or are we in puberty??  RIGHT?!  Haha.  Consistency is key and when I use the below products religiously my skin is the best it EVER is!

***DISCLOSURE: Yes, I sell Rodan+Fields, but that is because it seriously changed my skin and I love it.  This post is NOT TO promote Rodan+Fields.  I am honestly sharing my favorite products that I use daily.  I make commission on almost all products I sell through affiliate links so if my favorite products were by La Mer, or Kiehls vs Rodan+Fields I would make about the same commission.  I tell you this so that you see I am not overly promoting these items for financial gain. . .hope that makes sense***

MORNING:

I use Rodan+Fields REVERSE line in the morning.  It helps with dark spots, sun damage, age spots, dullness, etc.

  • Erase the appearance of premature aging including dullness, discoloration and uneven skin tone with REVERSE Brightening Regimen. REVERSE Brightening exfoliates, brightens, reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and defends against sun exposure for a long-term solution for a radiant complexion.

I like to use REVERSE and UNBLEMISH to treat my skin issues, but I will mention below why I like REVERSE in the morning.

  1. REVERSE WASH:  The wash has little microbeads to help exfoliate the skin and I like to use this in the shower because I like to stick my entire face in the water to wash off.
  2. REVERSE TONER: My face feels so fresh and bright after I use the toner.  It contains 2% Hydroquinone which targets excessive pigmentation and gradually fades persistent discoloration to even out skin tone.
  3. REVERSE SKIN LIGHTENING TREATMENT: This treatment glides on smoothly and dries very quickly.  It smooths out my skin, brightens it and prepares it for make up.
  4. REVERSE SPF 50 MOISTURIZER: I am an SPF junkie.  I am super fair and need lots of protection.  I love that this is SPF 50, but goes on light and dries quickly.  I am getting ready fast in the morning.  I need something that works amazing and is easy to use so I can get on to my make up and get out the door!
  5. AMORE PACIFIC ENZYME PEEL: This stuff is amazing!  First of all anything Amore Pacific smells amazing!!  I mean it is the best spa smell in the world.  I use this a few times a week in the shower before I use my face wash.  It is gentle enough to use everyday.  It is a powder that when you add water turns into the most amazing foamy wash that exfoliates your skin.  This stuff is incredible.  Check out the reviews!

NIGHT:

I use Rodan+Fields UNBLEMISH at night to help treat and prevent breakouts.

  • Clinically tested to help stop blackheads and pesky pimples before they become visible on your skin’s surface. Found to combat the entire acne cycle, this Regimen helps unclog pores, calm your complexion and keep acne from making unwelcome appearances.

6.  CLARISONIC MIA: I feel like this transformed my clogged pores.  I use this at night in combo with my Rodan+Fields Unblemish wash and it gets such a deep clean.  It exfoliates, gets all the make up off, unclogs pores, etc.  My skin is squeaky clean.

7.  UNBLEMISH WASH: This wash has a clay feel so it really gets deep in your pores and pulls everything out.  I love the way it makes my skin feel.

8. UNBLEMISH TONER: This toner tingles and I really feel like it gets deep in my pores and cleans them out.

9.  UNBLEMISH TREATMENT:  This dual treatment is something I cannot live without.  It treats any breakout and helps prevent any new ones.  If I do get a breakout and use this it is gone almost overnight!  I LOVE this stuff.  It is not a spot treatment, it is designed to be used in a thin layer all over your skin.

10. AMORE PACIFIC HYDRATION SPRAY: I didn’t necessarily put this in the correct order.  I like to spray this on my face when I finish my skincare routine in the morning and when I finish my routine at night.  It smells delicious and adds great hydration.  It is also amazing to spray on your skin throughout the day to add extra hydration and a skin pick me up.

11.  AMP MD ROLLER: This product is combined with #14.  I roll this tool all over my skin for about a minute at night BEFORE I use #9 the Unblemish treatment.  I wash, tone, roll and then add Unblemish Treatment and then #14 treatment.  This tool uses micro needles to prepare the skin for treatments so they penetrate deeper in your skin.  This helps reduce wrinkles, improve tone and texture and make your skin so radiant.

12. EYE CREAM: I love a good eye cream.  I think eyes show age first so I want to make sure to focus on this area!

13. LASH BOOST: OMG…this is the best thing ever!  Completely transformed my lashes.  I use this every night until I get the lashes I want.  Then I go to about every 3-4 days.  My lashes are longer and thicker than ever!  Everyone asks if I have lash extensions!  You all NEED this in your life!

14. RENEWING SERUM: After I use the AMP MD roller all over my skin and apply Unblemish serum I apply this serum and am obsessed!  It is the closest thing to prescription strength Vitamin A without the description. It contains Retinal with is 20 times stronger than Retinol.  Not only does it repair your skin, but it feels sooo good on your skin.  It feels like satin!

DEAL ALERT…ENDS TODAY…FREE LASH BOOST

When designing our home I pulled inspiration from all over! Pinterest, Instagram, magazine, design books, etc. we had this long spot in our front entry that we were trying to figure out and when I saw this image (swipe to see) in @gilschaferthearchitect ‘s book it stopped me in my tracks. I loved the use of transoms and designated spaces. My architect @josephpaulhomes & his wife Michelle helped pull the whole look together. So happy with how it turned out.

My grandfather owned a grocery store in New Jersey. The scale hanging from the ceiling in our butler’s pantry was the scale in his store. My uncle had it for the longest time & gifted it to me when we moved into this home. I love it so much!! My mom has the cash register he used in his store in her home. I love decorating with items that have meaning & that tell a story.

I love hallways & nooks. They are a great way to add interest to your home. Natural light & details are key. This space connects our hearth room to the gameroom. The Dutch door goes out to our courtyard, the room at the end is my office and the door to the left (just out of the photo) goes to the pool bath. Lots going on in this space.
I saw this floor pattern in a design book & had to have it somewhere in our home. I love it so much!

Bathrooms are such a fun space to make bold choices. They are small so every decision & detail makes a big impact. Still in love with this wallpaper from @wallpapersgalore_

✨REMODEL UPDATE: FAMILY ROOM✨

This family room had good bones, but we needed to declutter , maximize storage, update furnishings & make the space more functional.

There was a wall of shelves that was just too much. We purged and decorated with items that she loved & had sentimental value. So many homes are built with tons of open shelving and you have to be really careful in these spaces because they can become a spot for clutter instead of being intentional.
•added cabinet doors to 2 sections of shelves for some much-needed hidden storage.
•utilized the shelving that was separate from the other ones to make a designated bar space that is intentional and great for entertaining.
•found an gorgeous antique bar back to go against the wall that again is used as a bar when they entertain. Previously, it was a huge bench that took up width, but added no height to the wall. This is a major focal point in this space so we made it both functional and beautiful.
• I am not a huge fan of sectional couches unless they are in very specific areas. I think sometimes when people have a big room, they look for a big furniture to take up the space but it doesn’t actually give you the most seating and the spacing is sometimes awkward. They still really wanted a leather couch in there so we kept that, but then used more tailored chairs to frame the space.
• found this gorgeous coffee table on Facebook marketplace. Such a find!
•Removed the huge windmill fan that really took away from the gorgeous architecture of the ceiling with the beams.
•filled in dead space with functional furniture, like a cute table perfect for game night.
•scaled back the TV so it made more sense over the fireplace and went with a frame one so there could be pretty art up there as it is a main focal point. (Art was off in this photo, but typically it looks like a vintage painting)

So excited with how this space turned out. It’s lighter, brighter, more functional & a better use of space. They have walls of windows along the back of the house with a beautiful view and now you’re able to focus on that more.

✨REMODEL UPDATE: DAUGHTER’S BATHROOM ✨

Throughout this remodel you will see two constant goals…brighten up the spaces & add functional storage. This bathroom was dark & dated. We took everything out and had a fresh start.

•New paint, wallpaper, tile, fixtures, lighting, etc.
•Raised the height of the counters & some additional cabinetry extending up to the ceiling for much needed storage.
•Added cute details to the side of the counters
•Removed the tub & added a glass door to the shower to make the space feel bigger & more open.

This sweet girl has brought us so much joy! We are “foster failures” & couldn’t be happier about it. Callie has been the best addition to our family.
Chat GPT made this cute art from our Christmas picture of her. She was living her best life with all the ribbon from the presents.

I love a mudroom! I don’t care what size house I live in from here on out I’ll always have some “mudroom” space…even if it’s a tiny little spot. It’s so great to have a drop zone to keep organized. This space got lots of use during our ice storm with all the wet shoes, etc & these brick floors were great!!

Feels strange getting back to work this week. We’ve been living in PJs and been asking what day it was for about a week now. Snowmageddon 2026 was fun & we still have piles of ice on the ground….BUT nice to go back to a bit of a routine. January felt like 47 days 🤪
