Today I am sharing my love for decorating with wallpaper and how I use it in my home. I used to hate wallpaper! I associated it as old lady, matchy matchy (you know the kind…the border matched the faux floral arrangement in the middle of the table, type of thing), but not any more! Wallpaper has changed so so much from back in the day and now I think it is an awesome way to add interest, character and really transform a room.
I have wallpaper in many areas throughout my home and get asked about them all the time. Here are all the details…
OFFICE:
Originally I wanted to do a real wood planked ceiling. When I started looking at the pricing it was way over what I wanted to spend. It also added too much bulk to the ceiling and I didn’t want to have to replace the crown molding. When I found this wallpaper I knew it was the answer. The price was great and it was so much easier. In person you honestly cannot tell that it is not real wood. I put it right over our orange peel textured ceiling so it adds a little texture adding to the over all effect. I am so so happy with it!
FAMILY ROOM:
I wanted to add a little bit of interest in the nook where I have our TV. Wallpaper was the perfect answer. I got one that is almost the same color as my paint, but had a geometric design for a little added interest.
You can get it at Lowes HERE
GUEST ROOM
This is my all time favorite wallpaper EVER! It was a splurge, but with how much it adds to the room it was really not that expensive. The details are just amazing, it covers an entire wall so I didn’t have to buy any other decor and it is such a statement! This was my Joanna Gaines moment before I knew who she was 🙂
POWDER BATH
This is the powder bath we have downstairs and I wanted something bold in here. This is actually fabric hung on the wall. I couldn’t find any wallpaper that I loved, but I fell love with this fabric so I went with it.. It turned out great!
You can get the fabric HERE
I will be doing another post on wallpaper soon and showing lots of creative ways to use it! A huge part of decorating is the details and wallpaper is a good way to get huge bang for the buck!
