I am creating design boards for each room in our new home. It helps me to visualize everything and make sure the whole house flows. The laundry room was one of the rooms I was the most excited to design. Here are all the details.
When I first saw this laundry room by Holly Mathis I fell in love. I love everything about it, but especially the floors! I have said it many many times, but I am trying to keep our house classic and timeless. I wanted to do fun floors, but in a way that isn’t trendy. These floors, like checkered floors are a great way to do that. It is also very inexpensive. You just get inexpensive matte tiles and lay them in a buffalo check pattern. You can check out tons of plaid floor inspo HERE.
LAUNDRY ROOM DESIGN BOARD
I spend a ton of time in the laundry room so I wanted a space that I enjoyed being in. Well, as much as you can enjoy doing laundry. I wanted a clean space with lots of light and tons of space for organization. I also wanted this room to have some fun. I think you can be more bold in laundry rooms, powder bathrooms, butler’s pantries, etc.

I decided on a neutral palette. Super light grey cabinets, white countertops, a linen skirt under the farm sink, these fun buffalo check floors and a fun pop of color in the lighting. I am still trying to decide between kelly green and mint. My faucet will be chrome, but I think the cabinet hardware will be brass. Still deciding on that. The brass hardware will tie into the brass pulls on the Cafe Elite fridge. I LOVE this fridge. The matte white and brass pulls are perfection and will look so good in this room. I will have a sink wall, a washer/dryer wall, a folding wall with hanging rod and canvas laundry bins below and a fridge/storage wall. Still finalizing all the cabinet renderings, but we are almost there.
LAUNDRY ROOM ORGANIZATION
I will also have a cut out space for our cat’s litter box, shelves for the kids laundry baskets and a cabinet for storing wrapping supplies. We are building this house to our specific organization needs so we can move right in and put everything where it goes!

So what do you think? Do you like the kelly green or the mint green better? I am sure I will have a little tweaking to do when we get in the space, but for now I love the direction it is headed!

I would go with mint green! We recently built and I have the canvas rolling bins in our laundry room and absolutely love them! I did a herringbone pattern tile and white quartz counters. You will for sure enjoy laundry a little more, with some glamour in the laundry room! Itโs one of the favorite rooms of my house ๐ค!

You are going to make every woman jealous of this laundry room! It looks perfect. While I am really into mint green these days, considering it for my front door, kelly is probably more timeless. That said it is a simple fix if you get tired of the green.

Awe thank you. I know, I am having so much trouble deciding. I really love both.
