One of the coolest parts of our farmhouse rental home is the playroom! There is a huge space above the garage and it is the kids zone! It is so nice for them to have a place for all of their things that I don’t have to worry about. They can get creative, make a mess and don’t have to clean everything up immediately. The kids spend so much time in this room and just love it!
We had a few items from our old playroom, but were in need of some new things to make it the space we wanted. The room is so large we needed extra storage, some new chairs and a dedicated desk space for Avery to do her homework and at home learning.
Yall know my one of my first stops is Walmart when I need furniture and decor for our home. They offer a huge variety of quality pieces for amazing prices. Avery and Braden’s bedrooms both got makeovers when we moved to the farmhouse with beautiful Walmart items. I always find what I need there and the playroom was no different.
We had a vintage table in our old playroom, but we were in need of some new chairs for extra seating. I fell in LOVE with these metal industrial chairs for kids. How cute are they?! They have several color options, but I cannot get over how much I love them. I want to replace the white chairs we already had with 4 more of these. (You can find additional colors HERE). They come in a set of 2, are amazing quality, comfortable and just so pretty!
You can also see the saucer chair I always mention. Both my kids use theirs like crazy. They are soft, cozy and fold flat for easy storage. This blanket is Avery’s favorite. We got it for her room, but she moves it all over the house. Comes in tons of colors and very soft.
I love covering my kids table in kraft paper so they can easily color on it, spill on it, etc and it is easy clean up! If you have a playroom, I highly recommend doing this!
The next thing we needed for this room was a dedicated work area for Avery. She is in 4th grade now, is getting more homework and we needed a space for when she was doing virtual learning. I let her look on Walmart.com and she picked this pink ombre desk. She has great taste! There were 3 color options including plain white, but she loves pink. I love that it has great storage and was on sale for less than $200!!
One of the cool features of this desk is it came with 2 knob options. They had brushed silver and these cute geometric brass knobs. She picked the brass! That’s my girl! I love that she now has a wonderful space to study.
Avery also loved this art from Flower Kids by Drew Barrymore. We got another piece of art from this collection for her bedroom. The colors are so fun. The lamp has a cute pull chain and additional plug outlet. We were also considering this task lamp that is ONLY $6.88! These gold frames are some of my favorite. I have them all over my house.
We got these cubby storage bookshelves years ago for our old playroom and they are the best things ever. You can lay them on their side, you can stand them up, you can use bins, leave them empty, etc. So many amazing storage options. They come in lots of different sizes and configurations to meet your needs, but I highly recommend these! There are lots of different bin options to choose from, but these are the ones I have.
This area of our home is so pretty, organized and functional now and we all just love it! My kids are literally up there right now as I type this. We always find the style, quality and price we are looking for at Walmart! Hope you found some things you love too!
