On this edition of our Farmhouse Home Tour I am going to show you where Geoff lives . . . the office! This room is kind of a hodgepodge of pieces. We didn’t want to buy anything since we wouldn’t be here long, but we are making it work. Here are all the details.
We got so lucky when we found this rental. Not only is it adorable, close to everything and on an amazing piece of property (complete with a barn and animals), but it had all the rooms we needed. Geoff works from home so an office was pretty important for us.
His office is on the far side of the house directly off the family room. You can see the entrance to the left side of the fireplace. Love the cute transom!
The office has one of the best views in the house. It has a door that goes out to the front porch and a side window looking at the barn. The barn is my favorite!
We literally used the same office furniture from our last house and just stuck it in here. It is quirky, but it works. This desk is from my first apartment. It is one of the first pieces I ever refinished. I LOVE it. It is an old, solid wood executive desk with lots of charm. We will actually be selling most of the furniture in this room before we move into the next house and it is a little sad. I really cannot link anything because they are all old, one-of-a-kind pieces.
I painted this blue piece for the office in our last house. We had the perfect little nook area for it.
The huge piece on the right is an old cabinet with tons of character. It might not be everyone’s taste, but I LOVE it! Gives us tons of storage in this room.
The rug is from Ballard Designs. I bought it like 9 years ago.
Again, these 2 stacked pieces were in our last house. The top is an old tool cabinet and the bottom is our filing cabinet. The door on the left goes into the family room and the one straight ahead goes out to the front porch. This room has its own entrance from the outside if Geoff ever needed to meet with a client or anything.
Well, there you have it. If you see something you like keep an eye out in about a year. I will be selling all of it. We are going a completely new directly in the next house!
