I love decorating a pool bathroom and a powder bathroom. They are rooms that you can have a lot of fun in. I describe our home as “Southern Cape Cod” style. A little bit coastal, a little bit southern and timeless. Many areas of our home will be fairly neutral so I am thinking of doing a fun wallpaper in this room.
Our pool bath is right of the breakfast nook/hearth room area. It will be the main bathroom guests use and also the bathroom that connects to the outdoor patio/pool area. I wanted this room to be bright and cheery, but also have classic elements. I like to go classic in expensive/harder to change items like tile, etc and then more bold in easier things like wallpaper and paint. Wallpaper/paint are easy to change, so if I get tired of it, there is an easy fix.
I am from Texas so I love all things southern! Wallpaper, monograms, etc. I’m thinking of doing this bathroom like something you might see on the pages of Southern Living or a bathroom in a Draper James store. Would Reese Witherspoon like this bathroom? ๐ This will NOT be everyone’s taste, but that is ok. Again, this is a perfect area to make a bolder choice in your own home.
I have been looking at ALL THE WALLPAPER. I think I have it narrowed down to these options. I think I have a winner that I will share soon, but as we get closer I will be ordering samples, etc and will share those. Here are my favorite options.
- CAMONT WALLPAPER: This wallpaper is so fun and I love the story behind it. It was inspired by an 18th century farmhouse in France. It features lemon trees, fig trees, chickens and flowers from the grounds all put together in an antique pattern. Come in 3 colorways. I liked the green/blue, but the more neutral option has gold metallic accents that are beautiful!
- FLOWERS & BEES: I love the blue color in this wallpaper and the pops of yellow with the honey bees. I think it would go very well with the other items I have picked out for this room
- BEES AND LEMONS: This wallpaper is very similar to the Flowers & Bees, but they added lemons and I love that touch. I think it makes it even more fun. This pattern comes in several colors (black, grey (grey or blue leaves), mint, white, blush, sage) and different sizes (medium, large and jumbo). It is really versatile for what your needs are. There are also coordinating papers and fabrics to complete your space.
- FRESH SQUEEZED: This adorable wallpaper is from Brooke & Lou and comes in 3 colorways (white, blush and blue). I like the simplicity with pop of color. Very cheery bathroom!
You notice a lemon theme here. There is just something about lemons that I love. I also think they are really fun for a pool bath. It’s not an overly large bathroom. There will be a door from the hallway, a door that leads to the patio, one wall will have the sink and toilet with a cabinet above and the back wall will have a built in cabinet for storing things like pool towels, sunscreen, goggles, etc. The wallpaper will be such a fun addition.
Ok, so which is your favorite? 1, 2, 3 or 4? I know it is hard to tell because I have not shown you the rest of my bathroom design, but I will be sharing that very soon. Like I mentioned, I think I have a winner, but that could change 10 times before we actually move in!

I’m drawn to #1- just looks like a classic that won’t ever date the house. I am shying away from the lemons right now because I’m seeing them everywhere which years from now may look like the 2020’s trend. The colors are great too.
