Braden's Vintage Barnyard party Details & How To's.

Earlier I shared Braden’s Vintage Barnyard 1st Birthday Party. Now here are more details on the decor.

Fabric banners are such an inexpensive way to make a huge impact. First pick out fabrics that you like to match your theme. I went to Hobby Lobby and bought burlap, ticking stripe and a check. They also have that 40% off coupon to help cut cost. Then cut them into strips. The burlap you have to actually cut but the other fabrics just make a slit in the fabric and then pull. It rips really easily and saves lots of time. I cut mine about 1 1/2 inches thick.

After you have your strips cut a string ( I used twine) and then add the fabric. Loop them over the string like the photo below and then pull the hanging parts through. Just keep repeating until you have the amount you want.

And there you have it….a easy, inexpensive banner that looks beautiful. You can make these to decorate lots of things in your home!

Next I made my barn out of a red presentation poster board from Hobby Lobby. It was $4.99.

I drew out a barn shape, painted it with white paint, traced the white with sharpie marker and then I had a nice backdrop to my serving area.

I LOVE decorating with scrapbook paper. It is another very inexpensive way to make a cute impact. I got these at Hobby Lobby and they are like $0.30 each. I used some that looked like hay, burlap, barnwood and picnic check. I used them as chargers and then can just throw them away at the end if they get any food on them.

I took photos of both my kids every month their first year of life. I love seeing how they grew and changed each month. I made a really simple banner and hung it on my fireplace mantle at the party. It was a huge hit. All the family loved seeing how he changed.

This is another easy project using scrapbook paper. Again, I got these at Hobby Lobby and just cut them in half and glued each photo to them. Punch holes at the top and put your string through the holes to make a banner.
