Thanks for all your sweet messages about our Disney World Trip. We had a great time. I shared part 1 of our trip HERE and today I am recapping part 2. We did so many things I had to make it 2 posts! Our favorite memory from the entire trip happened on the last day at Epcot!
DISNEY WORLD: PART 2
DAY 4: HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS
Hollywood Studios has our favorite rides. Honestly, we don’t need a full day at this park, but we loved it because of Toy Story land. Midway Mania and the new Alien Swirling Saucers were our absolute favorite rides of all the parks. They were sooo much fun! The lines were short so we rode them a few times. We also saw some shows (Little Mermaid and Beauty & the Beast)
After those we headed to lunch at Hollywood and Vine which was super fun because it was all seasonal! Minnie & Friends were all festive in costumes so it was a great time to get pictures.
After lunch we headed back to our hotel (Port Orleans Riverside) and took it easy. We went to the pool and swam for a few hours. It is a great pool with a fun slide. Then we grabbed a pizza, ate in our room and watched a movie. This was a much needed day with fun and relaxation!
DAY 5: MAGIC KINGDOM
We headed back to our last day at Magic Kingdom. It was nice to have 2 full days here so we were able to take in everything we wanted too. Also we were able to repeat rides that the kids loved! This was another easy day. We got in everything we wanted to do and then left the park around 1:30 for a late lunch at. . .
CHEF MICKEY!! The food was so yummy and my kiddos LOVED the Mickey waffle bar. You could put all kinds of toppings on your waffle! We got pictures with all the characters, stuffed our faces and then went back to the hotel for more swimming, dinner at the hotel and Disney shows in our room!!
DAY 6: EPCOT
This was our last day and honestly it was an amazing day. We all had SO MUCH FUN! Last time we came, Epcot wasn’t our favorite just because of Avery’s age (4 at the time). There wasn’t a ton for her age to do, however this time was totally different. We discovered all kinds of new things. The Food & Wine festival was going on so Geoff and I love it. There were about 60 stands set up with all different kinds of food from different countries. It was amazing. We didn’t use our meal plan very well during the week (we ended up having 40 snacks left on our last day) however it was a blessing in disguise because each of these food stands had 4 “dishes” (they were small tapas size) and they counted as a snack. So, Geoff and I were able to eat tapas from all these different carts all over Epcot. It was amazing. The food was delicious, the portions were small so you could try a ton and we were able to use up a ton of our snack tickets (which if we would have used earlier during the week would have been a total bummer because it was so nice having a ton for this event. . .we did it on accident, but it worked out great! We got lucky).
The Frozen ride was a big hit (it wasn’t here the last time we came). and my kids LOVE Turtle Talk with Crush. I am not gonna lie. . .I LOVE that show. I seriously want to see a behind the scenes on how they do it. It is hilarious and I would have gone to it multiple times if we had time.
My Norway Vikings after the Frozen ride!
The weather held up pretty well on the trip however on this day it rained for about 15 minutes and it was a monsoon. We were completely soaked! It was actually pretty funny and we made the best of it, but wet socks are no fun! I shared a little behind the scenes on Instagram stories of the rain storm!
Now onto our FAVORITE thing from the entire trip (we all agreed). . .the scavenger hunt around Epcot! I mean this is a MUST!!! There is a free Disney app called PLAY and Phineas and Ferb need help solving cases! You go to the different countries around the World Showcase and pull up the app and then it walks you through everything. Each country had a new case. For example in the UK you have about 8 tasks you must complete. They are so creative. Like, go into the tea shop and say a secret code to the person who works there, then she hands you a bag of tea and you type in the words to the app. Then special things happen around the country like making waterfalls happen, filling up windows with water, starting a volcano, etc. I don’t want to give away anything, but it was amazing! Geoff and I totally go into it. It was great because typically the countries are a little boring for my kids, but this gave them something to do and had you go into shops and see things you typically might have missed. We had SO MUCH FUN!!! My kids haven’t stopped talking about it. It helped make Epcot one of our favorite parks on the trip! If you go, you have to do this. Fun for all ages!!
We did the scavenger hunt in 3 countries, went and had dinner at Coral Reef and then went back to do more scavenger hunts until Illuminations show! It was the perfect way to end an incredible trip. Disney is incredible. No matter your age, there is truly something special for everyone and it is a trip you can do through the years that will change as your kids grow up. I cannot wait to make many more Disney memories. Next up. . . a Disney cruise!
