Easter Tablescape {sponsored by AtHome}

March 24, 2016 By houseofhargrove@gmail.com

I just love the Spring.  The weather is warm, flowers are blooming, people spend more time outside and of course…spending time with loved ones at Easter!  Setting a fun table just sets the mood and AtHome had the perfect items to get my table ready and feeling festiveeaster tablescape (9)

I like to keep the place settings fairly simple so they can easily be cleared for food.  These adorable galvanized buckets are actually a citronella candle set.  They came in a pack of 2 and were the perfect size to use a little filler and set these cute gold eggs in.  Later you can use the candles on your patio to keep the bugs away!  These napkins are actually dish towels sold in a set of 4 so the price is great and I love the grainsack style!  The rope placemats finish off the look and give a simple farmhouse Easter feel.easter tablescape (1)

I did the center of the table a little more Spring with bunnies, eggs, tulips and candy!easter tablescape (10)

I use wreath hangers a lot to decorate with.  They are great for adding height to a table.  This one was only $9.99 and it also came in black.  I was able to hang this adorable yellow birdhouse from it and make a nice statement in the middle of the table.  As soon as I saw this cute bunny I knew he was coming home with me.  He was the perfect centerpiece!easter tablescape (11)Apothecary jars are so great to decorate with because they are so versatile.  You can fill them up with different things and get a completely different look.  Here I set them on top of some cute distressed boxes so they would stand out more and filled them with yummy (and pretty) taffy.  I used my favorite farmhouse pitchers at each end as vases.  I love these pitchers and use them all over my home.  Then I finished off the middle of the table with some different style eggs and bunnies.  Moss eggs, larger gold eggs,  and gold bunnies complete the look. easter tablescape (12) easter tablescape (13) easter tablescape (3)I have this antique hoosier cabinet that I love to use for a drink or serving station when I entertain.  It is there year round, but I add decorative touches to it for the different seasons.  This Olde Homestead barn sign is one of my favorites.  I got it at AtHome last year and I love the barn on it.  I added these flowers to feel more “Spring”.easter tablescape (5)Here is another one of the farmhouse pitchers I love filled with straws.  Robin egg blue ties in nicely with Spring so I was excited when  I found this cute metal bucket and polka dot frame.  The chalkboard box was something I picked up at AtHome last year!  I used some more moss eggs, fruit and these branch eggs to fill my tiered stand.  Lastly how cute is the bunny cake stand?? easter tablescape (6)

This sign was so sweet and so true!  The perfect art for any kitchen, dining room, patio, etc.  I love these ‘bloom’ and ‘grow’ plant decorations and I used the branch eggs again here too as decoration.easter tablescape (4)Lastly, we cannot forget about the kids!  They have their own table set up.  I think these pinwheels are just the cutest.  Stick them in a glass jar with taffy as fillers and you have the perfect kids table centerpiece!  They can play with them and eat the candy later! These green melamine plates are pretty and functional.  I used similar decor as the adults table, but used these colorful eggs instead of the gold.  Complete the look with this painted bunny, Egg Hunt sign and mason jars and you are all set! easter tablescape (7) easter tablescape (8)

Thank you so much At Home.  You never disappoint.  I always find the things I am looking for and lots of things I never knew I had to have!  Be sure to check out your local At Home store to get your home ready for the holidays! I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter!easter tablescape (2)

When designing our home the kitchen was such an important space. We spend a lot of time in there. I wanted it to be beautiful and functional. Here are some of my favorite features in our kitchen.

I’ve been on the hunt for faux flowers for my outdoor pots and I finally found a winner!!

🌸 comment SHOP and I’ll send you the links

I kept spending lots of money each season on real flowers and it was so much work keeping them alive!

I was looking for a better option and finally found one!

These faux flowers are
•BEAUTIFUL ....always in bloom
•ZERO MAINTENANCE ...no watering, fertilizing, etc
•BUDGET FRIENDLY ...these are priced great and you don’t have to replace them each season
•AND LOOK REAL. Some faux flowers are bad!! These really look good and unless you dig in there you’d never know they are faux

Each pack comes in a bundle of 2 bunches. Each bunch has 7 stems. You can plant 2 ways and I tried both. You can plant the bundle attached together and bend the stems (they are wired) to spread everything out....or....you can cut the bundles apart and plant the stems individually. I ended up doing that and thought they looked more realistic that way. I ended up using 5 packages (10 bunches) for 2 large pots and 1 smaller pot.

I share both ways on IG stories so you can see the difference.

I also removed some soil and added floral foam blocks beneath, recovered with dirt and stuck the flowers in them. I don’t think this step was necessary, but I wanted to make sure they were in there firm.

I’m so excited I now get to enjoy beautiful flowers with zero work 🙌🏻🙌🏻

Last year, Geoff and I added wires up this wall in a diamond trellis pattern. We planted creeping fig, but unfortunately, it all died this winter. I just planted Star Jasmine in its place so really hoping it survives. Texas weather is hard!. Thanks to a little AI magic I was able to create what my ultimate vision is. Fingers crossed it will look like this in a couple of years.

I just learned that May 3 is World Naked Gardening Day 🤣 I seriously can’t believe there is a day dedicated to this, but maybe lots of people need fences 🤷🏼‍♀️😉🌱🌿

Yall I recently discovered you could make fun art on ChatGPT using your own images for free! @ciarakenaston inspired me with her Beatrix Potter images and I did a deep dive and found you can do so many cool things!

🩵 Download ChatGPT if you haven’t already and have fun!

Upload an image. Can be of your home, your family, etc and then type in prompts to have it alter your image. You can play around with it and try all kinds of things but here were my prompts for the video

1. Beatrix Potter inspired illustration
2. Jan Brett inspired illustration
3. Vintage oil painting
4. E.H. Shepard inspired illustration
5. Retro British cottage core style

If you do some be sure to share and tag me. I’d love to see them. Endless possibilities!!
