Our farmhouse has 2 living areas. One is our cute Hearth Room off the kitchen and then we have a larger family room off the dining room. Today I am sharing all the details of our family room.
This house is so charming and cozy and we just love it. The family room is where we cozy up for family movie night, where our Christmas tree gets set up, etc. The furniture from our old house fit in here great!
Originally this house was designed for the TV to go in that brown cabinet you see. It was made for the huge old bubble TVs. That doesn’t work for the TVs of today so we had to set our room up like this. I get asked sometimes why our sofa is in front of the fireplace and that is why. We don’t actually use the fireplace so it is just for looks. This arrangement is the best set up for our family.
The door you see on the left goes into Geoff’s office. I will share the office in an upcoming blog post.
The back french door goes out to the back patio and the opening to the right goes into the dining room.
This opening goes into the entryway.
We really feel so lucky to be in this home. It is so beautiful and we are making so many great memories here!
This room has lots of antiques. We love the rug. It is beautiful, soft and an amazing price. We have a 9X12 in this room and loved it so much we bought it for our bedroom as well. If you are looking for a rug I highly recommend it.
