My Favorite Instagram and Blog Tool- Link in profile

September 27, 2016 By houseofhargrove@gmail.com

This post was sponsored by Link in Profile.  I love this service so much I reached out to them and said we need to share this information with everyone.  All opinions are my own.  It contains affiliate links so if you purchase I may receive a small commission.  Thank you.

Typically this is a place where I am sharing pretty home decor inspiration and ideas, but lately I have been getting a lot of questions about blogging tips & tricks.  I am not going to go into all of my blogging adventures and lessons today, but I do want to share one of my favorite things that really transformed my business.  If you are a blogger or social media influencer I am telling you….YOU NEED THIS TOO….GAME CHANGER!!!

blog-tips-5

Instagram is a HUGE social media tool with more than 500 million people on there, but its not user friendly for your followers if you are sharing something from your blog or a direct link….UNTIL NOW.  If you follow me on Instagram you may have noticed the link under my profile name says linkinprofile.com/houseofhargrove.  Link in Profile is a blogger or influencers best friend!  My traffic and income have skyrocketed since using LIP.

{KEY:  IG=Instagram   LIP=Link in Profile}

WHAT IS LINK IN PROFILE?

When you sign up you get a custom link.  You add this link below your Instagram Profile and it never changes.  When readers click on this link it takes them to a custom landing page that shows every IG picture you post (that has a URL) and each one is clickable to send your readers where you want them to go.

HERE IS WHY I LOVE IT:

1. CONVENIENCE: It allows you to add links to your Instagram photos so they send your readers where you want them to go.  If you are talking about a blog post…it sends your readers right to the post for more information.  If you are talking about a specific item….it sends readers right to that item to shop.  It makes life easier for everyone.  You no longer have to update your Instagram link 5 times a day.  Here are some examples:

link-in-profile-fixed link-in-profile-1

I post a lot of pictures on Instagram.  It was hard for my readers because I would share a picture of my kitchen and they would want to know where I got a cool mug rack.  I would put the affiliate link in my IG profile so they could click on it, but as soon as I posted another picture I would change that link to the new item and then if someone wanted to know about the mug rack it was gone!  Or I would post a picture of a cool DIY and post a link to that blog post….again, if I added a new picture I would have to change that link again.  NO MORE!  Now I have the exact same link under my IG profile and it stores every link I have ever posted.  If a new reader scrolls through my IG feed and clicks on an old picture they can see it in Link in Profile and it will link right to that post or item.  SO much better for everyone.  My readers get the info they want, I get the traffic and affiliate sales.  Also your readers don’t have to sign up for anything.  I have many who don’t want to do Like To Know It and get emails for every photo they liked.  This way they are also in control and pick only the info they really want.

2. TRAFFIC:  As a blogger you are looking for ways to send your readers over to your blog for more information or to find other posts they may like.  With LIP you can actually see in Google Analytics how many people are coming over from IG now.  It is amazing!  It will show as a traffic source.  IG is my #2 referral!  It converts so many more IG readers into blog readers because of how easy it is to use.  Below is a screen shot (please ignore the terrible picture) but it shows my Google Analytics in real time.  You can see 28 people are on my blog and 10 of them are from link in profile.  I posted a picture of my Fall decor on Instagram and linked it to my blog so you can see 10 Instagram followers clicked on it and are now on my blog.  How awesome is that?!  Before you had no idea!  You can also go to your Traffic Report in Google Analytics and see how many people have come from Instagram because it will say Link in Profile, Pinterest, Facebook, etc now.

link-in-profile-2

3. INCOME:  I am able to post affiliate links to all of the items I post on IG and they don’t go away!  Someone can basically go through my LIP feed and shop all the items I have posted.  They don’t have to sign up for any service or anything.  It is just all right there for the readers to access.  Previously I would post an affilaite link and then when I updated that link readers would message me saying they couldn’t find how to get XYZ item and since you cannot post clickable links in comments I would have to PM everyone and that wasn’t efficient for anyone.  My affiliate income has skyrocketed since using LIP and my followers are happier because they have the information they want.

4. EASY TO USE: It takes seconds to set up and any post you have ever put a URL inauto populates to your new feed.  Any post you want to add a link too….just go back, edit your caption and add a link at the bottom.  This will now auto populate to your link in profile feed.  There is zero maintenance.  Everything is handled for you.

5. CUSTOMER SERVICE: LIP has some of the best customer service I have ever experienced. If there is ever an issue (only happend twice in the 5+ months I have used it) I just email the team and it is fixed in minutes!

6. FREE TRIAL:  There is a FREE 30 day trial so you can see for yourself how amazing it is.  You just click HERE and in seconds you are ready to go!  I am telling you….once you try it you will not be able to live without it.  Once your trial is over it is only $9.99 a month!  You will make that up in no time with the additional income you will see from your affiliate sales and traffic.

Here is a quick video showing how to use Link in Profile

Friends….busy season is coming!  It would be such a huge mistake to go into 4th quarter without  Link in Profile.  Every pretty holiday picture you share can send your reader to that post, share a beautiful pie and link to the recipe, share the most amazing throw blanket that your reader has to have and link directly to the item for them to shop, share your top Holiday gift ideas and send your readers there.  Both your readers and your bank account will thank you.  I truly have followers that tell me all the time they love my IG because it is so easy for them to find the info they need.  There is truly nothing to lose.  Try it for 30 days for FREE and then if you don’t love it you can cancel.

TRY LINK IN PROFILE FREE FOR 30 DAYS

If you have any more questions feel free to email me or comment below.  I love sharing amazing finds with my readers whether that be a great throw pillow or an amazing blogger tool!  I am happy to answer any questions you have!  I do not work for Link in Profile….just a very happy customer!

I have never blogged but this is very interesting to me. How do you earn money from blogging? Do you have contracts? And do you spend hours and hours shopping and finding deals or do they send you the deals to post about? I’m just a bit curious and thinking about possibly getting started somehow! ☺️

      Hi Christine-
There are many different ways to make money. THe 3 main ones are Advertising (this depends on how much blog traffic you get). Another way is working with brands and yes, you sign contracts. You decide on a topic, write about it and share tips with your readers. Lastly, sharing shopping links that pay you commission. Yes, it can be a full time job. You find the stuff you live, styles you like, tips you want to share, recipes you want to try, etc and share them with your readers. You do all the work for it but based on your readers responses and traffic you get commissions for your work. Does that make sense?

Sort of….I guess the hardest part is setting up a blog and finding the companies you’re going to feature….

Yeah….really for me I just posted what I loved and worried about the income part later. Once you find your niche, your readers, and stay authentic the rest starts to fall in place!

Just today I had an experience where I wanted to share something I saw on IG and went to the person’s blog to try to find the post and couldn’t find it anywhere. This tool would’ve saved me some searching time. I’ll definitely try it. I need to work on my IG and obviously, traffic is always good! Visiting from Lambert’s Lately.

When designing our home I pulled inspiration from all over! Pinterest, Instagram, magazine, design books, etc. we had this long spot in our front entry that we were trying to figure out and when I saw this image (swipe to see) in @gilschaferthearchitect ‘s book it stopped me in my tracks. I loved the use of transoms and designated spaces. My architect @josephpaulhomes & his wife Michelle helped pull the whole look together. So happy with how it turned out.

My grandfather owned a grocery store in New Jersey. The scale hanging from the ceiling in our butler’s pantry was the scale in his store. My uncle had it for the longest time & gifted it to me when we moved into this home. I love it so much!! My mom has the cash register he used in his store in her home. I love decorating with items that have meaning & that tell a story.

I love hallways & nooks. They are a great way to add interest to your home. Natural light & details are key. This space connects our hearth room to the gameroom. The Dutch door goes out to our courtyard, the room at the end is my office and the door to the left (just out of the photo) goes to the pool bath. Lots going on in this space.
I saw this floor pattern in a design book & had to have it somewhere in our home. I love it so much!

✨REMODEL UPDATE: FAMILY ROOM✨

This family room had good bones, but we needed to declutter , maximize storage, update furnishings & make the space more functional.

🤎comment SHOP for sources

There was a wall of shelves that was just too much. We purged and decorated with items that she loved & had sentimental value. So many homes are built with tons of open shelving and you have to be really careful in these spaces because they can become a spot for clutter instead of being intentional.
•added cabinet doors to 2 sections of shelves for some much-needed hidden storage.
•utilized the shelving that was separate from the other ones to make a designated bar space that is intentional and great for entertaining.
•found an gorgeous antique bar back to go against the wall that again is used as a bar when they entertain. Previously, it was a huge bench that took up width, but added no height to the wall. This is a major focal point in this space so we made it both functional and beautiful.
• I am not a huge fan of sectional couches unless they are in very specific areas. I think sometimes when people have a big room, they look for a big furniture to take up the space but it doesn’t actually give you the most seating and the spacing is sometimes awkward. They still really wanted a leather couch in there so we kept that, but then used more tailored chairs to frame the space.
• found this gorgeous coffee table on Facebook marketplace. Such a find!
•Removed the huge windmill fan that really took away from the gorgeous architecture of the ceiling with the beams.
•filled in dead space with functional furniture, like a cute table perfect for game night.
•scaled back the TV so it made more sense over the fireplace and went with a frame one so there could be pretty art up there as it is a main focal point. (Art was off in this photo, but typically it looks like a vintage painting)

So excited with how this space turned out. It’s lighter, brighter, more functional & a better use of space. They have walls of windows along the back of the house with a beautiful view and now you’re able to focus on that more.

✨REMODEL UPDATE: DAUGHTER’S BATHROOM ✨

Throughout this remodel you will see two constant goals…brighten up the spaces & add functional storage. This bathroom was dark & dated. We took everything out and had a fresh start.

•New paint, wallpaper, tile, fixtures, lighting, etc.
•Raised the height of the counters & some additional cabinetry extending up to the ceiling for much needed storage.
•Added cute details to the side of the counters
•Removed the tub & added a glass door to the shower to make the space feel bigger & more open.

This sweet girl has brought us so much joy! We are “foster failures” & couldn’t be happier about it. Callie has been the best addition to our family.
Chat GPT made this cute art from our Christmas picture of her. She was living her best life with all the ribbon from the presents.

I love a mudroom! I don’t care what size house I live in from here on out I’ll always have some “mudroom” space…even if it’s a tiny little spot. It’s so great to have a drop zone to keep organized. This space got lots of use during our ice storm with all the wet shoes, etc & these brick floors were great!!

Feels strange getting back to work this week. We’ve been living in PJs and been asking what day it was for about a week now. Snowmageddon 2026 was fun & we still have piles of ice on the ground….BUT nice to go back to a bit of a routine. January felt like 47 days 🤪
