One of our favorite holiday traditions is a trip to the Gaylord Texan.  A few years ago we decided to focus on giving more experiences vs gifts and this is an experience we give every year.  Our family loves it!  I highly recommend going with your own family.  Sharing all the details plus a COUPON CODE for 50% off 2 of the newest holiday events at the bottom!

Thanksgiving break we kicked off the holiday season with a staycation at the Gaylord.  We stayed 2 nights and had the best time.  There is just something about getting away and staying in a hotel that is so special.  We LOVE going to downtown Grapevine for dinner and to see their cute main street.  It feels like you are in a Hallmark movie.  

We love to eat at Esparza’s Mexican restaurant and then walk around.  There are cute candy stores, boutiques, and lots of great photo opportunities all over the place.  They do several events throughout the season so you can check them out here before you go.  

After downtown Grapevine we headed over to the Gaylord Hotel to get in our Christmas PJs and cozy up for the night.  We always get a courtyard room so we can look out and see the lights.  This staycation really gets us in the holiday spirit.  We all cuddled up in bed and watched Home Alone 4.

The next morning we woke up and had breakfast at Mission Plaza Marketplace.  Then we started taking in all the festive fun.  The entire hotel is so beautiful.  There are lights everywhere, miniature trains, trees, etc.

We always stop by Marketplace for a big as your face cookie!

Then we headed over to Christmas Village where so many activities are.  There is ice skating, carousel, snow ball fights, snowman building, snow sledding, Mission Save Christmas, shopping, etc.  We were greeted by this soldier on stilts!

Next we were off for a Snoopy Christmas adventure.  This activity is so much fun.  Its $12 for a booklet and its a huge scavenger hunt all through the hotel.  My kids LOVE IT!  There are riddles you have to figure out to find Snoopy and solve the puzzle.  This is also a great way to explore the hotel and see all the different things.  At the end you get a prize.

After that, we did the new event Mission Save Christmas featuring Elf.  It was a fun new interactive event.  If you follow me on Instagram stories I showed lots of behind the scenes.  You have a interactive snowball fight, bake cookies, do fun games, etc inside!

After lots of Christmas fun we headed to Southlake to walk around the cute downtown square and grab lunch.  We did a little shopping and strolling.  Then we headed back to the hotel for nighttime activities.

We ate dinner at Zeppole, the yummy Italian restaurant and then went to Merry & Light.  Yall, it was so pretty!  It’s a bunch of beautiful lights set up outside you walk around and see!

We had a full day of fun and were exhausted.  We grabbed a late night hot chocolate treat and headed back to our room for more snuggling and movies.  The next morning we checked out and headed home.
