If you are looking for me the first weekend in December, I will be on the McKinney Home Tour. I look forward to it every year and it never disappoints. Every home was amazing, but 2 really stood out to me. You can read all about the first home here.
A few years ago this home was on the market and I told Geoff about it! I would love to gut and redo a historic home, but him….not so much! This home is on a beautiful tree lined street and looks like something out of the movies. Well, we did not buy it, but its current owners did, gutted the entire thing and did the most amazing job. I am blown away!
Welcome to house #2.
When you walk in the home there is a beautiful entryway with stairs on the right and on the left you enter the dining room. I love the way they used wallpaper half way up the wall and then painted the top part. Take note as you tour this home all the incredible antique furniture and signs! Their collection is just incredible! The french doors in the back of the dining room lead to a living room.Beautiful antique sleds. The details in this home are incredible! This is the first living room that was through the french doors in the dining room.
This is the same living room from the other angle. You can see the french doors to the left that lead to the dining room. Can we just take a minute to drool over this apothecary piece! I mean…that is the stuff dreams are made of!
This is the family room. Look at those incredible signs and again….that piece of furniture!!!
This is the opposite wall from the other amazing piece of furniture with the TV.
As you walk down the hallway you pass a butlers pantry area with another drool worthy antique!
This is the ceiling in the butlers pantry.
Kitchen envy!!
These drawers are so cool. I talked to the owner about them and I love what they did. They took old drawer fronts and put them on new drawers so they function like new, but look old. This is the perfect combo!
Card catalog heaven! This piece was on the stairs leading to the 2nd floor.
This bathroom blew me away! The adorable dog wallpaper, the amazing sink, faux wood tile wainscoting, I mean…it is just amazing.
The back stairwell had this awesome wood showing through. It is what was under the original plaster walls.
This is the office at the bottom of the 2nd stairs
downstairs bathroom
Hallway at the bottom of the 2nd stairwell. Office and the bathroom above are off this hallway.
This was another adorable area right as you went out the back door. Another amazing sign and scale!
Just like the first house I shared I think I could have spend all day in this house just taking it all in. There were so many amazing details that it was hard to really see everything. I so enjoyed doing this post because I saw a bunch of stuff that I missed the first time I walked through!
Here are some highlights from a few of the other homes we toured.
I just love all the vintage details on this porch!
I love all the cloches and lights for the centerpiece!
She told me they used peal and stick sheets from Home Depot on this wall!!
I cannot even imaging how long it took to make all these snowflakes in her office!
Thank you so much for going on this tour with me. If you missed Part 1 be sure to check it out.
I am all ready counting down until next year!
