I love decorating our fireplace mantle for the holidays. It is the focal point of our living room which is attached to the kitchen and we spend the most time in this area. This Halloween I wanted to make our mantle festive while still sticking to my farmhouse style. Today I am sharing all the details of our $25 neutral farmhouse Halloween mantle.
I left all of my original decor in place, but added some spooky fun.
I love decorating with spooky fabric. It adds texture and interest without being overwhelmingly “Halloween”. I used one layer of cheesecloth and tore holes in it and then layered it with “freaky” fabric. Both of these together are less than $10
I got this cute witches broom at Michaels for less than $3.99 and my paper mache witches hat for $1.99. The jute pumpkins were from the Dollar Spot at Target for $3 each. I got these amazing cardstock bats at Target last year and they were $5 for 20. This year they are more expensive. $7 for 5! I found similar ones on ETSY…20 for $3.50, You could also cut these out yourself for super inexpensive! Get some great bat templates here. I hung them with painters tape so they would stick well and not mess up my paint.
NEUTRAL FARMHOUSE HALLOWEEN MANTLE:
Cheesecloth: $3.99
Freaky Fabric: $3.99 (at Walmart or Target)
Broom: $3.99
Witches Hat: $1.99
Pumpkins x 2: $3 x 2 =$6
Bats: $5
TOTAL: $25
The rest of my mantle is decorated in a combo of old and new. My mirror is from Wisteria. They don’t sell it anymore, but you can find a similar one here. The books, wood frames and window are all from flea markets and antique shops. I made the wreath out of coffee filters. This is such a cheap, easy project and I love the way it turned out. The urns are from market and the dried hydrangeas are from a local store called Patina Green.
Create your own spooky mantle with the decor you already have! Hope this gave you some great ideas!
