Home Decor Warehouse

May 18, 2016 By houseofhargrove@gmail.com

Friends…I am so excited to share with you an amazing place to find home decor.  If you are local you have to go check out Holiday Warehouse in Plano, TX.   They reached out to me last month and invited me to come in and shop their store.  To be honest I was a little unsure because I thought it was a Christmas store.  Well, it is a Christmas store (actually the most amazing Christmas store) BUT so so so much more!  I like to call it “Home Decor Warehouse” because that really sums it up.  They have some of the most stunning home decor and absolutely incredible decorating services.  I cannot wait to tell you all about my new home decor source!  It is NOT just for the holidays although shopping in there felt like Christmas because I found so much cute stuff!

Holiday Warehouse is HUGE…I mean, if you cannot find it here….it doesn’t exist.  They have decor for every style.  I found the perfect neutral decor to get my table ready for a casual dinner party.

Check out this pedestal stand!  It is incredible and I love the size of it.  I have a lot of stands, but this one is one of my favorites.  It came in even larger sizes than this one.  There are so many uses for these stands, but I loved it as a base for a beautiful glass cloche and filler.

Holiday Warehouse (1) (750x500) Holiday Warehouse (2) (750x589)

The french script runner was a neutral base to the table.  Open some books lying around your home and place these fabulous flame effect Luminara candles on them.  I am obsessed with these candles and Holiday Warehouse has the largest selection.  They come in all sizes, colors, textures and some are even scented.  Just pop in some batteries and you are all set.  The flame is battery operated to move around and flicker like real fire.  I cannot get over how real they look.  They even have a timer option on the bottom.  I seriously want these for every room in my house.  They are beautiful, never burn out and are safe…especially with kiddos around (and husbands who forget to blow them out 🙂 )

Holiday Warehouse (3) (750x500)

Here is a quick video so you can see how it actually works.  So real looking right??!!

I fell in love with these wooden bells and they were only $4.99!  Solid wood with a jute rope.  These would look so cute in a bowl, hanging from drape tiebacks, on your Christmas tree, etc.  Here I placed them in the center of each place setting for a little added interest.Holiday Warehouse (4) (750x500) Holiday Warehouse (5) (750x500) Holiday Warehouse (6) (750x750) Holiday Warehouse (7) (750x647) Holiday Warehouse (8) (750x500)
Here is my absolute FAVORITE piece that I got at Holiday Warehouse….this custom deer head!  I mean…how adorable?!!  I have never seen anything like it and am in love.  The designers at HW were incredibly wonderful to work with.  They custom created this one just for me with the colors I was going for (will give more details on this later).  I love finding new, unique decor pieces and this one definitely fit the bill!  I hung it in the middle of an antique window I had and then added a few other decor items to complete my buffet.
You can never have too many pedestal stands.  Here I used one of those incredible flame effect candles with a mini boxwood around it and filled the surrounding area with adorable wooden buttons (can see better in a photo below).  Then I found a larger wooden bell, similar to the smaller ones I used in each place setting, that tied everything together.  A cute distressed bowl with moss ball helped complete the look.
Holiday Warehouse (9) (750x500)
Here is a closeup of this stunning piece!
Holiday Warehouse (12)
Holiday Warehouse (11)
Here you can see the wooden buttons better…cute as a button right?! (wink)
Holiday Warehouse (13) (750x500)
Holiday Warehouse (10) (750x500)
I am so in love with this deer head that I had to move it to other parts of my home to see how great it looked.  Here I placed it in my entryway.
Holiday Warehouse (14) (750x750)
And here it is over my fireplace mantle.  It looks good everywhere!
Holiday Warehouse (15) (750x750)
Like I mentioned these antlers are completely custom.  You can go into the store, pick your own set of antlers that they have available and they will work with you to custom design whatever you want.
Here is another example that is more rustic/southwestern with succulents and moss.
Holiday Warehouse (17)
Here is an example of one of the antler sets you can choose from and have customized.  I learned something new while I was there (maybe yall already know this) but deer shed their antlers every year?!!  I had no idea (this is probably very disappointing to many Texans reading this).  I am more of a city girl with a love for country porches, tea, farmhouses and mason jars (but hunting…not so much).  The one I had made was from real antlers that had been shed.  The photo below is from an animal no longer with us…hence the skull.
There are many sizes and styles to choose from.  Go by there ASAP to get one made to match your own home.
Holiday Warehouse (16)
The selection of floral and the customization blew my mind.  You can go into the store and have a team come out to your home and work with you to design whatever you need.  The customer service is exceptional!  If you find items in the store you love they can make something for you there too.  I thought this moss wreath would look adorable with some antlers in it.
Holiday Warehouse (18) (750x538)
Like I said, the selection is huge.  These pictures really don’t do it justice.  You have to go into the store to take it all in.
Holiday Warehouse (23) (750x500)
They have faux and dried floral arrangements.  This one below is all with faux flowers!  Look how real it looks…and the other amazing thing is it feels real.  I wish you could feel through your screen.  They have special flowers that literally feel real.
Holiday Warehouse (21) Holiday Warehouse (22) (750x500)
I still don’t believe these roses aren’t real.  They will even work with brides to make a faux or dried version of their bouquet so it can be preserved forever.  I love this idea!  I saved mine and at this point it is basically ashes!
Holiday Warehouse (24) (750x500)
They have bowls and bowls of faux succulents.
Holiday Warehouse (19) (750x471)
Look at this dried arrangement.  All the textures and colors are stunning.
Holiday Warehouse (20) (750x500)
Any Real Housewives of Dallas fans out there?  This Marie Antoinette scene was featured in a commercial during the show.  The entire dress is made of faux floral.
Holiday Warehouse (25) (750x500)
Like I mentioned it is impossible to give you a full idea of what the store is like, but here is a view from inside the store.  It is constantly being changed around and re-styled too so it is full of new inspiration every time you go.
Holiday Warehouse (26) (750x500)
How amazing is this piece of furniture and all that greenery!
Holiday Warehouse (27) (750x500)
I loved these chicken wire cloches.
Holiday Warehouse (29) (750x500)
There is tons of coastal, farmhouse, rustic, western, traditional decor…really something for everyone.  They even have an entire wedding section with ideas and decor.
Holiday Warehouse (30) (750x500)
Along with floral they can custom make any wreath.
  Holiday Warehouse (33)
Here is one display featuring the flame effect candles I love.
Holiday Warehouse (34) (750x500)
Rows and rows of ribbon.  I got lost in these aisles for a long time…I love me some ribbon.
Holiday Warehouse (36) (750x500)
Check out these stuffed animals on Noah’s Ark!
Holiday Warehouse (37) (750x500)
And yes…they have Christmas.  Beautiful, stunning Christmas.  I need to do a whole other post on their Christmas and tree sections because WOW!  It is truly incredible.  They have a service where they will come to your home and decorate for you (if the price is right).
Holiday Warehouse (28) (750x500) Holiday Warehouse (31) (750x500)Holiday Warehouse (39) (750x500)
The Santas are unreal!  They do sports Santas, designer Santas (they did Louis Vuitton one year), Santas riding live taxidermy….I mean you name it…they can do it!
Holiday Warehouse (32)Holiday Warehouse (35) (750x588)
They also have the most incredible selection of lights.  Fairy lights, twinkling lights, remote control lights, ombre lights, LED lights, edison looking lights.  Your one stop light shop.
Holiday Warehouse (38) (750x448)
Seriously friends…if you are local go stop by Holiday Warehouse.

✨REMODEL UPDATE: DAUGHTER’S BATHROOM ✨

Throughout this remodel you will see two constant goals…brighten up the spaces & add functional storage. This bathroom was dark & dated. We took everything out and had a fresh start.

🩵 comment SHOP for sources

•New paint, wallpaper, tile, fixtures, lighting, etc.
•Raised the height of the counters & some additional cabinetry extending up to the ceiling for much needed storage.
•Added cute details to the side of the counters
•Removed the tub & added a glass door to the shower to make the space feel bigger & more open.

BEST PUMPKIN PIE RECIPE...Pumpkin Chiffon Pie

Want to bring/make the favorite dish this year for Thanksgiving?? Look no further!

🤎🥧 Comment PIE to have the recipe sent to your DM

To be honest, I am not a huge traditional pumpkin pie fan.  However, this pumpkin pie my mom made growing up is my all time favorite.  It is pumpkin flavored, but very light.  It is absolutely delicious. If you are hosting this year or bringing a dessert, I highly recommend trying this Pumpkin Chiffon Pie!  It is sure to be a family & crowd favorite!

This recipe will always remind me of my mom & she gave me the original hand written recipe card that I have framed in my butlers pantry. It’s very special to me! Can’t wait to make it with her this Thanksgiving!

💚 I’m so excited to finally share my office reveal! 💚

It’s amazing what a little wallpaper and fabric can do to completely transform a room. I found the most beautiful designs at @spoonflower — one of my go-to sources for wallpaper and textiles.

From the wallpapered ceiling, to the block-print café curtains and coordinating fabric on the lamp and chair, these prints truly pulled the whole space together. The quality, selection, and customization options at Spoonflower are incredible!

I couldn’t love this space more.

✨Y’ALL… I’M OBSESSED!!! ✨

When we built this house, I dreamed of having gas lanterns—but with a propane tank, it just didn’t make sense. Back then, the “flame” bulbs that existed were super orange and totally fake-looking.

Fast forward to now… I found these new LED bulbs on Amazon and they are a complete GAME CHANGER. The color, the flicker—everything looks just like a real flame! They’re even prettier in person and at such a good price point.

I had to wait a little bit on shipping, but totally worth it!

📍WOODSTOCK, VT

This was one of my favorite stops on our fall New England trip. Seriously the most charming town. Think Star Hollows!

Everything was walkable and oh so charming.

🍁 TO DO:
*on the way to Woodstock check out Cold Hollow Cider Mill & get some donuts

•Sugarbush Farm: maple syrup & locally crafted cheese
•explore downtown: lots of cute shops (121 Home, F.H. Gillingham & Sons)
•get ice cream at Woodstock Scoops
•visit covered bridges: Middle Bridge (in town), Taftsville bridge
•Woodstock Inn..absolutely stunning! Get lots of pictures
•walk Pleasant St and see the famous pumpkin fence house & other gorgeous homes

🍁 FOOD:
•Montvert
•Soulfully Good Cafe

We stayed at The Shire. It was perfect for our family. Had a cute little market across the street that we picked some food up at one night and just went back to our room and watched a movie. We picked Goodwill Hunting since we were headed to Harvard the next day. It was a fun little evening.

we didn’t have time for this, but lots of people go hike Quechee Gorge which is nearby & supposed to be incredible.

We did Stowe & Woodstock and although I liked both, Woodstock was my favorite.

Driving around New England in the fall is spectacular. Everything looks like a painting.

I highly recommend adding the scenic Kancamagus Highway to your trip. We left Kennebunkport, ME and took the Kancamagus Hwy on our way to Stowe, VT. It might not be the most direct way, but it was totally worth it. It’s 34 miles long through the White Mountains.

We left ample time that day so we could stop take pictures, explore, etc.

TIP: make sure you have a full tank of gas, have snacks, go to the bathroom, etc. before you get started because there’s nowhere to stop on the way.

TOP SPOTS TO SEE:
• Albany covered bridge
• Lower Falls
• Rocky Gorge
• Sabbaday Falls
• Sugar Hill scenic overlook

• Champney Falls (if you have more time) This stop involves a more lengthy hike to see them

Have y’all ever driven “The Kanc” before? If so what were your favorite stops?

Also, if you see something that catches your eye just pull over. Some of the favorite spots we found while traveling New England were just random pit stops on the side of the road. Everything is gorgeous around there this time of year and looks like a postcard.

Salem surprised us…
it was so much more than witches and Halloween. It’s a cute coastal town full of charm! Brick streets, cobblestone, gorgeous architecture, beautiful parks old candy shops…such a cute town.

You will hear mixed reviews. Some people love it at Halloween. Some people say avoid it. Yes it’s crowded, yes it’s touristy, but we loved it. We love Hocus Pocus so we soaked in all of that fun, but then we explored and really saw how beautiful everything was when you get outside of the main downtown area.

We were there a couple of hours & got everything in. It’s the perfect day trip from Boston.

TO DO:
•Explore downtown
•get a picture with the Bewitched statue
•We took a self guided Hocus Pocus tour (see my other reel with all the spots and addresses), there are tons of guided ones if you prefer that
•walk by The Witch House
•check out the backyard at Ropes Mansion
•stroll Essex Street (keep walking straight past Ropes Mansion-Allison’s house in Hocus Pocus) & you’ll walk right into a gorgeous neighborhood full of Colonial homes.
•go see Max & Dani’s house from the movie & explore that neighborhood. More gorgeous homes right on the coast
•Pioneer Village was fun to see
•if you’re into all the spooky stuff there are tons of tours and museums you can check out.

We had pizza at Flying Saucer & it was delicious. It was a fun little Halloween festive stop for us that we all enjoyed.
Almost everything is walkable.

Best road trip advice...just pull over!

We had a lot of time in the car on our trip to New England last year with lots of famous outlook sites and stops planned. Don’t get me wrong...they were all amazing, but some of the prettiest areas we saw were just random parts off the road. We would see something from the window and just pull over to soak it in.
The trees are gorgeous everywhere, there is so much water, beautiful churches, cute little country stores, old cemeteries, barns, bridges...you name it!
This particular spot was somewhere in New Hampshire that we just saw and pulled over and it turned out to be one of our favorite photos! There was no one else there. It looks like a postcard and there are spots like this everywhere. Some of my favorite times on the trip were just driving in the car and soaking it all in! 🧡💛❤️🍂🍁

📍Stowe, Vermont

We visited Stowe in Mid October last year. The weather was absolutely gorgeous and the leaves didn’t disappoint. We were there during the week so it wasn’t overly crowded.
It had a small town, relaxed feel, but was bigger than some of the other places we visited. In the winter it’s a big ski town & it definitely had that vibe.

We went with kids and it was a great family spot. We focused on kid friendly activities and restaurants.

EXPLORE DOWNTOWN:
⛪️ See the beautiful Stowe Community Church
🛍️ Explore the cute shops (Country Store on Main & Farm Home Marketplace were some of my favorites)
🥞 Breakfast at The Butlers Pantry...pro tip...it’s a very popular quaint restaurant in the heart of downtown with long waits BUT you can join the Yelp waitlist online before you go. We were able to walk right in
📸 Picture in front of the Stowe mural on the side of Laughing Moon Chocolates

VIEWS:
•Smugglers Notch Drive
•Gondola Sky Ride
•Drive on mountain road (just outside of downtown) for lots of great picture spots. This video is taken from a lookout about 2 min out of downtown.

ACTIVITIES:
🌽 Percy Farm corn maze was a hit with the kids
•Brookdale Bridge is close by and beautiful
🎶 Von Trapp Lodge & Brewery are worth seeing. Beautiful views & you can get a day pass to enjoy the incredible property

OTHER POPULAR ATTRACTIONS:
🍦 Ben & Jerry’s factory tour
🍎 Cold Hollow Cider Mill
•Gold Brook Covered Bridge
