We just started prepping for paint at the house so I am finally starting to see the finish line! Time to start getting the rest of the rooms designs in order and furniture ordered! I want our family room to be cozy, timeless and beautiful. A very collected space full of wood and gorgeous upholstery. Here is our family room design board.

I plan on putting 1 long sofa directly in front of our fireplace/TV and then 2 sets of chairs on either side of the room. I want 2 arm chairs in white performance fabric that matches the sofa. Then on the other side, I want 2 blue/white gingham chairs. I also think I will be adding blue piping on the white chairs to tie everything together. I love a layered rug look so I want to do a large natural rug with a pretty Oushak rug on top. Next, accent with some fun throw pillows and brass lighting. I also plan on layering some antique end tables/console tables, etc in to make the room feel collected.
I have space behind the family room that I need to figure out once we move in. I can’t decide if I want to put my dining room table there with chairs, push it up against the sofa as a large console table, or put in the hearth room. I think I really need to live in the space before I decide what is the best layout for our family. I cannot wait to move in and pull everything together.
The family room will be our “pretty room”. It will be family friendly with performance fabrics, etc, but I think we will spend most of our family time in the game room.
