I am so excited that we are finally starting to see the exterior come together! We have some of the siding done and the cupola went up. It is amazing how it gives the home more texture and charm!
We still have a lot of exterior work to do, but we are starting to see our vision come together. I cannot wait to complete the exterior and paint it! Brick is scheduled to start this week so fingers crossed!
The 2 sections on the front will be white brick with molding on the window pop out sections. We still need to replace the window on the front right. . .it’s missing the grids. We are also waiting on the french doors for the office. Additional columns need to go up, etc, but you can see some of the details! I love the shingle texture on the gambrel section.
The entire house will be painted white, the porch will be red brick and the front door/shutters will be black. The next couple of weeks I need to finalize my paint colors! I will be sharing all of that on Instagram stories!
We spent a lot of time working on details, texture, trim, etc. All of those details will come together over the next couple of months! That will be so fun to see! For example, in this photo we are going back and adding extra molding around all of the window trim, there are brackets that will go where the siding and shingles transition, etc.
Below is a photo of the day the cupola went up! Isn’t she cute! I have always wanted a cupola! We are adding metal roof on it and a horse weather vane!
Its funny, when the cupola first arrived it was sitting in the garage and I had a mild panic attack because it looked HUGE! My kids could fit inside like a playhouse! I knew it would look much smaller when it was put up there, but I was still nervous! Luckily the scale was perfect!
More trim details up on the side of the house!
The next couple of months should be really fun. The details will start happening and that is the fun stuff! Hopefully the holidays won’t slow us down too much! Stay tuned. . .
