Hi friends.  If you follow me on Instagram stories last week I took you behind the scenes on my latest beauty treatment. . .Dysport!  Not only did I try Dysport for the first time, but I tried a new technique called the LIP FLIP and spoiler alert. . .I LOVE IT!  Sharing all the details below.  Also, at the very bottom I am sharing about some special promotions on these services!  Welcome to Beauty Diaries: Dysport | Lip Flip addition.

BEAUTY DIARIES: DYSPORT | LIP FLIP

Just to give a little background I am 36 years old and always on the hunt for the latest and greatest beauty treatment.  I am all about doing small things now to look better, but most importantly to prevent future skin concerns.  I go try all the things and then share them with you so you can decide if its is the right treatment for you.

I have tried Botox 3 times before.  My first time was when I turned 30 and then I had it about every year and a half in between.  I really liked it, but didn’t keep up with it all the time because I was using it more as a preventative.  Well, now that I am creeping towards 40 my skin feels like it is melting :).  Haha. . .but no really.  I have noticed more and more fine lines each year.  Botox is the perfect way to erase those fine lines and prevent future ones from forming.  I truly think Botox/Dysport is one of the biggest bangs for your buck.  Like I mentioned above, I had only tried Botox in the past so I was interested in trying Dysport and seeing if I noticed any difference.  I had it done last week and honestly, I see no difference between Botox and Dysport.  I love them both.  I have friends that swear by one vs the other, but for me. . .they work the same.

I will be doing a future post showing you the difference in my skin since using Botox/Dysport, but todays post is all about the LIP FLIP!  YALL. . .I had no idea this was even an option and it is a GAME CHANGER!!!!

FIRST THINGS FIRST: It is SUPER IMPORTANT who you go to for Botox/Dysport.  I have had a bad job in the past and yall, it is no joke.  My eyebrows looked like a scary Disney villan.  Not exactly the look I was going for.  I am soooo thrilled to have found Dr. Riehs at Le Beau Visage.  If you are local he is the best!  Not only is he an MD, but he is an Injectible Trainer who travels around teaching others how to do Injectibles!  That speaks volumes for his level of talent.  If you are local. . .GO TO LE BEAU VISAGE.  The staff is so friendly and Dr. Riehs is incredible.  I have some friends who go to Carla and they love her too!  Dr. Riehs’s philosophy is less is more and to start conservative. . .you can always add more.  I love this approach.  I am not trying to look 20.  I just want tweaks that allow me to look the best I can for my age.  When you first go in you get a one on one consultation that is so thorough.  They go over what you are looking for and then put together an entire patient package customized for your needs.  One of the things Dr. Riehs and I discussed was my lips.  We discussed filler and he recommended I try the Lip Flip with Dysport first.  THANK YOU DR. RIEHS. . .it was exactly what I needed.  Also I am a weenie when it comes to needles.  I hate them.  Dr. Riehs was so gentle that I literally didn’t even feel some of the spots he injected.  It was by far the best I have ever had.  On a scale from 1-10 (10 being the most painful) I would give it a 3.

My lips have never been on the large side, but again as I have aged I have noticed they are getting smaller.  I have nothing against filler, but I have never tried it and wanted to see if there was another option before trying it.  I know people that have lip filler and it looks amazing and I have seen others where. . .not so much.  I may try it in the future, but for now I was looking for an alternative and the Lip Flip with Botox/Dysport is my new go to treatment.  It was such a simple procedure.  There were 2 injections made in the space between my nose and mouth, basically where a mustache would be.  He said that my muscles there pull really hard when I smile causing my upper lip to pull under and almost disappear in photos.  By putting Botox/Dysport in that spot it would relax the muscles so when I smile they don’t pull so hard and it would give the appearance of a fuller lip.  It did just that.  I love that it is my actual lip, you just see more of it now.  It looks very natural.

The difference is subtle, but I think it makes a pretty big impact.  I am so so happy with the results.  If you are looking for something to make your lips fuller you might want to try the Lip Flip technique.
