Hi friends, it has been a month since I have had my tear trough filler procedure and today I am sharing all the details. If you follow me on Instagram stories I have taken yall along on the journey with me, but today I am sharing my results and answering your questions!
The area under my eyes has always been hollow and had dark circles. No matter how much sleep I got, how much water I drank, etc. I just always looked “tired”. I have dealt with this since I was in high school. Of course, as I have gotten older, it has gotten worse, but it is a genetic thing. Now that I am getting older and more fine lines and wrinkles under my eyes, my concealer has started to look “cakey”. . .YAY ME! When I visited with Dr. Riehs at Le Beau Visage a few months ago he recommended I get tear trough filler. To be honest, I had never heard of that before. I have done Botox in the past and loved it, but always been a little weary about filler. I have seen some beautiful work done and some that makes people look strange. That was not the look I was going for! After I left his office, I started doing research and was so impressed with what I saw. Below are some before and afters from the Le Beau Visage Instagram Page. Be sure to follow them to see there amazing treatments, specials and before and afters!
Patients who did the tear trough filler looked so much better and I never saw a case that had that strange puffy look I was referring too. Dr. Riehs does tons of these treatments and is an expert in this procedure. Many different offices do tear trough filler, however Dr. Riehs does about 5 times the amount of this procedure that other offices do. He is so knowledgeable, has a great eye, tons of experience and I love his results. There is no one else I would trust to do this to me. I am very particular about all the things I have done, but especially with it being around my eyes.
TEAR TROUGH FILLER
The procedure took about 30-40 minutes. It really wasn’t bad at all. I was nervous because I had no idea what to expect and I hate needles, but this one was fine. I think Microblading hurts way worse! They started out by applying numbing cream under my eyes for about 10ish minutes. Then Dr. Riehs came in and started making drawings on my face. After that, he made one injection about mid cheek and that was really the only prick I felt. Next, he continued going through that same prick spot so I never felt another needle. He used a cannula, which is a long tube, to place the filler. He used Restalyne and the only thing I could feel was a little bit of a cold feeling and pressure every now and then. He continued to place the Restalyne around my eye using the canulla and then he kind of massaged it around. Then he did the same thing to the other eye. Again, I only felt the one prick that he did on my cheek.
The goal of the procedure is to get 50% improvement, but I think my results are better that that. I am blown away by the difference!! I look so much more refreshed, my make up goes on smoother, etc. The hollow area around my eye has literally been filled in so everything is less dark, less puffy and smoother. The treatment typically lasts 1-1.5 years. It is a flat fee regardless of how much filler is used. They did the maximum amount on me because my eyes were so hollow. He thinks I will get even more improvement the next time I do it because it will have this procedure to build on. I am so impressed by this procedure and am so glad to have found out about it. I honestly didn’t even know something like this was out there. If you struggle with dark circles and always looking tired I highly recommend looking into tear trough filler. If you are local I would definitely go to Dr. Riehs at Le Beau Visage.
This was my first filler experience and it went very well. It made me less nervous to try something else. I really only thought I would be a Botox girl, however after losing a lot of weight, my skin has started to sag and look more hollow in certain areas so I will be going back to try cheek filler later this month. Stay tuned because I will be sharing all the details of that as well! Just think of me as your beauty treatment guinea pig!
YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED
I posted a question box on Instagram stories and got tons of the same questions so here are your questions answered.
- WHAT TYPE OF FILLER IS USED?
- Dr. Riehs uses Restalyne. I cannot speak for what other doctors use.
- WHAT IS THE COST ?
- I am sure this varies by dr, but it is $900 at Le Beau Visage.
- HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?
- 1-1.5 years.
- HOW MANY SYRINGES ARE USED?
- I honestly don’t know how much he used. They charge by the procedure so it doesn’t matter how much actual product is used. This is different than Botox which is charged per unit. Tear trough filler is a flat price and then they use as much as you need. I do know I needed the max amount.
- DID IT HURT?
- No, it honestly didn’t. The only “pain” I felt was the 2 initial pricks in my cheeks where the cannula was inserted. Having said that the video make it look a lot more painful. When I watched it back it looks scary. I am glad I couldn’t see the procedure. I promise it looks a lot worse than it was. It truly wasn’t bad at all. I would put it at the same pain level as getting Botox.
