Thank you all so much for your sweet comments on our Farmhouse. We truly love it. It is time to continue with the tour and today I am sharing our MASTER BEDROOM.
The master bedroom is upstairs in this home. That is super unusual in Texas. Typically master bedrooms are always on the bottom floor. It is kinda nice having it upstairs. The views are great and we get tons of natural light.
Once we move into our next house I want a new bed, but while we are in the rental I used most of what I had in our last bedroom (side note . . . I cannot find the top newel posts to my poster bed. I have 2 parts that stick into the posts at the end of my bed that are still packed away somewhere. . .grrrr. . .oh well). Moving on . . .the bed wall is smaller than our last home so I was not able to fit both of my favorite nightstands. I ended up using one on my side and then one from Avery’s old bedroom on the other side. It is not perfect, but it will work for now.
The entire farmhouse is wood floors so I knew I needed a rug in this room. I loved the one I got for my living room so much I got the same one for our bedroom. It is a 9×12 and honestly one of my favorite rugs. It is beautiful, looks very expensive and is a steal of a deal (less than $300 for the biggest size).
I wanted to refresh my bedding a little bit. In my last house I had pops of rust in my room and in this home I wanted all neutrals. I LOVE pillows and was excited to get some new ones! I’ve always loved this antelope fabric so I knew I wanted a long lumbar pillow with it, I used my same linen ruffle pillows that came with my ruffle duvet (similar linked here) and I had new pinch pleat linen euro pillows made with contrasting piping. I LOVE the way it all turned out!
One of my favorite new bedding items that I love is my quilted blanket coverlet! Yall, how have I not had one of these before?! It is so soft, comfortable and I love the added texture. Before I would pull my duvet up more on my bed, but now with the coverlet blanket I am able to fold my duvet at the end of my bed and the quilted blanket makes my bed look so much more put together. I love the quilting detail for extra texture. I also love the weight of it. At night it gives extra warmth without being hot. It was the perfect addition.
I highly recommend adding a quilted blanket/coverlet to your bed! This one is from Jennifer Adams and it is perfection. Check out the reviews. . .I am not alone in my love for it. The other thing I love, it washes great! I love white bedding, but I need it to hold up. One of my kids spilled something on it right when we moved in and it washed right out. . .#winning.
I have mentioned it before, but the character and charm of this house is one of my favorite things. Every door in the farmhouse has antique knobs. Here are the 2 in my bedroom.
We have a Tempur Pedic bed that lifts up so I love to work in bed. I raise it up in to a chair position and get cozy under my covers. Since I spend a lot of time in this room, I really love how bright and cozy it is.
I got this white armoire piece in the corner off Facebook Marketplace and distressed it. We just needed a little extra storage to hold my pillows, sheets, etc. The piece I originally was going to put in the room wouldn’t fit up the stairs so I had to come up with plan B. This piece worked out great!
Thanks for stopping by and touring our farmhouse master bedroom.
