This was a short week since the kiddos had off from school on Monday, but for some reason it seemed really long! Looking forward to a relaxing weekend and celebrating a friends birthday tomorrow night! I am linking up with Narci, Erika & Andrea to share my favorites from the week. There is a bunch of randomness here.
Joanna Gaines Devotional
Lifeway stores offered a free devotional by Joanna Gaines that gets emailed daily. It is on Psalms 62 and I have really enjoyed it so far. The sign up for this series is closed, but I am sure if you follow Lifeway stores there will be another one. If I see anything about it I will share on my Blog & Facebook Page. Here is the devotional from day 1.
Vintage Industrial Work Cart
I got a new piece of furniture last week that I am in love with. You can read all about it HERE. It is for sale, but until it sells I will enjoy it in my home. I just love finding beautiful vintage pieces with tons of character.
Modern Farmhouse Kitchens
I love searching on Pinterest and Instagram and seeing beautiful homes. There is so much inspiration out there. Lately I have really been drawn to modern farmhouse kitchens and I shared a bunch of the on the blog earlier this week. In case you missed it you can see them HERE.
Heated Mattress Pad
Geoff and I were over at a friends house a few weeks ago and we were talking about how we never agree on the right temperature in the car/house, etc. I think this is a very common issue between husband and wife. I like to sleep with the bedroom really cold at night, but I like a lot of covers on and love being cozy. Geoff doesn’t like it to be that cold and he doesn’t like a lot of blankets. Anyway, our friends told us about this amazing heated mattress pad (thanks Heather and James) that heats up and has dual zones so you can have it at different temps! We ordered it and both LOVE it. I will be honest…you can kinda feel the wires in it. At first I wasn’t so sure about that, but now I don’t even notice them. I need to try putting our other mattress pad (which has a little padding) over this new heated one to see if it will completely mask the wires. Our bed is so cozy now. I like my side on low and it gives just the right amount of warmth. The room is crisp and cool, but I am snug as a bug in my bed!
Valentine’s Notes/ Mailbox
I don’t do a ton of decorating for Valentine’s Day, but I do put up a simple banner that is a 10 minute DIY and I updated our candy bar with Valentine’s Day candy. My kiddos love this area in our home. I got a little mailbox in the dollar spot at Target last year ( I have seen them all over…Hobby Lobby, Dollar Store, etc) and from now until Valentine’s Day I will randomly put little notes in there for the kids, a piece of candy, etc. It has a flag on it so I will just put it up and wait for the kids to see it. They LOVE it. It is such a simple thing to do and they have so much fun with it. I highly recommend doing it!
I also have been using Valentine’s Day candy to write fun notes in Avery’s lunchbox. Here I used M&M’s, but the heart candy’s have all kinds of fun words on them too! Then she gets a fun little treat for dessert!
FUN SOCKS
Have yall heard of Woven Pear? I just did a giveaway with them on Instagram this week and they make the most adorable socks! If you love fun, socks you have to check them out! Many of them have funny things written on the bottom. I think they would make fun gifts! Valentine’s Day is coming up!
Favorite Foot Cream
I wear flip flops ALL.THE.TIME! Lately it has been too cold, but if it is even close on the weather…I am in flip flops! It is kinda ridiculous. Anyway, this makes my feet really dry (gross I know) and also has my feet showing a lot so I obviously don’t want them to be gross. I like a good pedicure and moisturized feet! I have tried about 20 different foot creams over the years (not even kidding) and this one is by far my favorite. This is NOT a sponsored post. It is thick, not greasy, no strong smell and it works! I used it everywhere…not just my feet! Elbows, hands, etc. I just love it!! You can pick it up at pretty much any store or you can order it HERE.
lash boost
I am obsessed with Rodan+Fields Last Boost. My lashes have gotten so thick and long. I have been using it every night since Nov 11. It takes seconds. You just put it on like liquid eyeliner. It is completely clear and doesn’t have any side effects like darkening eye lids or anything. I am honestly at the point I am going to start using it once a week because my lashes have gotten so long they hit my sunglasses when I wear them. These are my personal photos below, but there are tons of amazing before and after pictures out there.
All Rodan+Fields products come with a 60 day $ back guarantee so it is risk free to try. If you are interested email me at houseofhargrove@gmail.com and I can give you more info!
The picture below is from Jan 15. My lashes are literally hitting my eyebrows now.
Basketball with Braden
I got to the gym early the other day before the childcare opened so Braden and I went to the basketball courts and played basketball for about 45 minutes. It was so much fun. Don’t get me wrong…he and I play all the time, but seeing him on this HUGE court was really fun. He had a blast. No one was there so we could be loud and it was such a special mommy/son time.
Ok, I told you it was a bunch of random :). Hope everyone has a great weekend.
