When we were looking to build our new home the lot was incredibly important to us. We wanted a unique piece of land with lots of old trees where we could build a new home that felt like it had been there forever. We got super lucky and found the perfect spot. I love older homes that have all these unique outdoor spaces and really use every inch of it. When designing our home the outdoor space was very important to us and we wanted lots of little “moments” around our property we could enjoy. Having a courtyard was a must for me. I am so excited about this cozy space and know we will spend lot of time out here. Today I am sharing the courtyard design board so you can get a glimpse of this area. I found everything to bring this space together at Walmart!
The courtyard is off our kitchen and across from our game room. The windows in our kitchen look out to the space and you access it from a dutch door across from our game room. I can see the guys hanging out in the game room and the women enjoying a charcuterie board and relaxing in the courtyard. The feel I am going for is a cozy, intimate almost Parisian cafe feel. String lights, cute furniture, boxwoods and white flowers in gorgeous planters, a fountain, etc.
Here is a view of the space now. It has a long way to go, but imagine everything painted white, the dutch door is a beautiful smoke blue, there are string lights going all the way across from roof to roof, the floors are a grey and white check pavers, there are lots of potted flowers/plants, a large round table in the middle with cafe chairs a little seating area under the laundry room windows and a fountain.
Once we get the base down, here are the beautiful items I found at Walmart to decorate the space. They always have everything I need to get the look I want and prices you cannot beat!
- CONVERSATION SET: This wicker set is so cute and looks designer, but is a steal of a deal for under $350. I want to set this up under my laundry room window as a cute little space to sit and talk.
- OUTDOOR RUG: This beautiful blue and white outdoor rug will go under the conversation set mentioned above. It is by Martha Steward and an 8×10 is less than $175!
- STRING LIGHTS: will really set the mood for the space. They will be strung across the entire space.
- GARDEN STOOL: This gorgeous white garden stool is perfect to set extra drinks down, etc. I also love the way they look.
- BEVERAGE CART: This adorable green beverage cart is the perfect thing to store drinks while we relax out side. I love the pop of color!
- PILLOWS: These cute pillows help tie the look together. I will use them on the chairs for comfort and looks.
- WHITE DIAMOND PILLOW
- GREY AND WHITE PILLOW
- GREEN BLOCK PRINT REVERSIBLE PILLOW: This ties in with the green beverage cart and I love that it is reversible.
- 60″ ROUND TABLE: I love a round table and this one is perfect for the middle of the space. It is 60″ so it will hold a lot of people.
- CAFE CHAIRS: These go perfectly around the large table. They are outdoor chairs and have the cafe look similar to what you see in Paris.
- OUTDOOR HEATER: This will come in handy during the colder months!
SHOP COURTYARD
Now that we have the Courtyard design all set I found some more fun outdoor decor and entertaining ideas at Walmart! I love the blue and white dishes and they would be perfect for alfresco dining in our new space. Fly fans are a must when serving food outside. The umbrella would fit nicely into the table on really sunny days. Another great outdoor table find if you are needing a different shape. I also loved this outdoor rug and gliding chairs. So many great options. How beautiful is that wicker planter?! Both the table and planter are part of the new Dave and Jenny Marrs line that is sold exclusively at Walmart.
