Ruffle Bed skirt – only $35

One of my favorite rooms in my home is my guest bedroom.  In that room the most commented on items are the Barnwood Wallpaper and my ruffle bed skirt.  The ruffle bed skirt is one of my favorite finds ever!  It is super cute and cost less than $35!!!

I had drooled over these beautiful linen and burlap bed skirts, but I just couldn’t justify the price.

Then I found the deal of the century and found an almost exact ruffle bed skirt for ONLY $34.99!!!

I was sold!!!  It was exactly what I had been looking for.  Now I didn’t want mine to be this crisp white.  I was going for more of a linen/vintage feel…so I decided to coffee stain it.  This was the first time I had tried coffee staining so I am not sure I did it the best way, but it worked for me! Since there was a lot of fabric I filled my utility sink until all of the fabric was covered in water.  Then I ended up making 36 cups of coffee (3 batches)!  I used about 3/4 of a new container of Folgers Decaf Coffee.   I poured all 36 cups in the sink with the water and stirred it all up.  I let the fabric soak over night.

I had no idea what to expect, but I was really excited when I saw what I saw!

I thought it was a great color and really looked antique.  I then put it in the washer on the rinse/spin cycle (no soap).  This helped get any coffee grains off.  Then I dried it and put it on the bed!   It is kinda wrinkly, but here are some close up shots of my new ruffle bed skirt!
P.S. my room smells amazing!!!  Nothing like waking up to the smell of coffee 🙂

Seriously you need one of these ruffle bed skirts in your life!  So cute and so inexpensive!  The perfect combo!   You can coffee stain all kinds of fabric.  I coffee stained a piece of trim to make a custom lamp HERE.
Ill be honest….I am not a coffee drinker…however I love decorating with it!
