I seriously don’t know what I would do in life without my girlfriends. I love love my family, but girlfriends make it all complete. One of my group of friends gets together for a monthly girls night. My friend Kristel organizes it and comes up with the most fun ideas. Last week we had a favorite things party and it was a blast! Several of you asked for more details from my picture on Instagram so here are all the details on our Favorite Things Party.
I am linking up with Narci, Erika and Andrea for Friday Favorites!
There are many different ways to throw a favorite things party. Here is how we did it. We all went over to Kristels house, brought our favorite dish for dinner and then brought 5 of our favorite things under $10. You could bring 5 of the same thing or 5 different things. Then we all wrote our name on a piece of paper 5 times, put it in a bowl and drew names in 5 rounds and that was the order people got to pick their gift. Another fun way to do it is have everyone bring 1 of their favorite thing under X amount….maybe $20/$30 and then do it white elephant style where you can steal the gift until it is frozen. I think that would have been really fun too.
We started out eating because…duh. I mean look at all this yummy food! I brought my spinach artichoke dip which is so easy and always a crowd pleaser.
After we ate it was time for the gift exchange. We all placed our items on a table so people could see what we brought and pick what they wanted when their name was drawn.
There were all kinds of gifts! Books, nail polish, wine, kitchen utensils, etc , but the most popular item was from my friend Erin. It was stretch pants that she raves about from Walgreens for only $3!! What??!! She swears they are the most comfortable thing ever. I had my eye on a pair (with a scarf), but they were long gone by the time my name was drawn. Guess I will have to swing by and grab a pair for myself. I am excited for our next get together to see what everyone thought about these pants. Haha.
When we first got the invite for this party I was racking my brain. What was I going to bring?? I have many favorite things. I ended up bringing my favorite burlap pumpkins from the Target Dollar Bin ($3) (similar pumpkin here) and my favorite Essie nail polish…Shearling Darling.
Here are some of the other items that I considered bringing.
My favorite Dry Shampoo
I have tried so many on the market both expensive and inexpensive and this one is my favorite. I have like 15 in my cabinets as back stock. I use about a can a week and cannot live without it! You can get it here for about $5.
My favorite Pumpkin Spice Candle
Read all about it here. They are only $5 and I am sharing some free label printables to make them even cuter!
My favorite Mascara and make up remover
This is hands down my favorite mascara. My favorite expensive mascara is Dior Show but this one is just as good! These wipes remove mascara like a champ! I love them!
Here are some of my favorite things if we did 1 gift at a higher price point.
My favorite Pave Link Bracelet
This is one of my favorite bracelets that I wear with everything!
My favorite lash product Revitalash
Yall, I cannot say enough about this product. It completely changed my eyelashes. I will be doing a full review at a later time but wow! This is one product I cannot live without. My eyelashes get so thick and long I have to stop using it for awhile. A bottle lasts me about 9 months! It is amazing! People ask me all the time if I get lash extensions.
My favorite Phone Charger
I have this phone charger and it is amazing. I carry it in my purse and it holds 3.5 Iphone charges or Galaxy charges and it charges an Ipad. It also holds charge for over a month! I love having this with me if my charge ever gets low and it is $22.
My favorite Tote Bag
I have the natural one with sequins on the bottom. I get mine monogrammed and use it daily!
Hope this gave you lots of ideas on throwing your own Favorite Things Party! I highly recommend it. So much fun and a great reason to get together with your girlfriends….not that we need a reason!
Next month we are having a scarf exchange so I will be sharing all the details on that then!
